Masoom Kandahari, MD
Triple Board Certified
Dr. Kandahari is triple Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. He graduated in 1978 from the top medical school in India, the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and an additional Medical Oncology fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He also received extensive training in autologous bone marrow transplantation. Upon completion of his studies, he moved to Northern Virginia and has been in private practice since 1987.
Dr. Kandahari was elected as and has served two non-consecutive terms as Chairman of the Department of Medicine and two terms as Chairman of the Cancer Committee at Potomac Hospital. He also served as President of the Medical Staff at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. He has participated as principle investigator in clinical trials and has given numerous lectures. He is fluent in English, Farsi, Pashto, Hindi and Urdu. He is married with three children.
